After the death of the mayor, Mexico’s new president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador
The mayor of a city in Mexico’s southern Oaxaca state was slain merely hours after being sworn into the workplace on Tuesday.
Gov. Alejandro Murat confirmed the killing of Tlaxiaco Mayor Alejandro Aparicio Santiago through his Twitter account. He promised an original investigation and mentioned a suspect was already in custody.
The state prosecutor’s workplace stated in an announcement that Aparicio had been merely sworn in and was headed to a gathering at metropolis corridor when an unknown variety of shooters opened fireplace at him. He was taken to a dispensary however died there later. A second man injured within the assault, city official Perfecto Hernandez Gutierrez, died Wednesday morning, based on the prosecutor’s workplace and a political group.
Aparicio and Hernandez have been each element of the leftist political bloc Nationwide Regeneration Motion, often known as Morena, of Mexico’s new president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
